4 Things You Need to Know About 4D Gel

It’s “soak-offable”!

1. It’s simple to apply.
Start prep as usual by pushing back the cuticle and lightly buffing the natural nail. Wipe away dust, apply 4D Nail Bond and allow to air dry, then apply 4D Nail Base Coat to the nail and cure for 50 seconds. To apply 4D Gel, simply squeeze a dollop of gel from the tube, swipe the dollop off with the knife tool, and place it on the nail. Dip a small flat brush sparingly into the Sculpting Solution and use it to shape the gel. Once you reach the desired form, cure for 50 seconds under the lamp. File with an 180-grit file to shape and buff the surface. Wipe away all dust, apply 4D No Cleanse Top Coat, and cure.

2. It’s versatile and easy to work with.
4D Gel will not harden until cured and is not self-leveling. That means you can work at your own pace, taking all the time you need to shape the gel before curing to a strong, light, and durable finish. Available in 18 colors, the gel is light enough to create nail enhancements on natural nails, strong enough to build out on nail forms and nail tips, and moldable enough to create dimensional art. It’s an easy way to create a French manicure, too.

3. 4D Gel soaks off!
4D Gel soaks off which makes it different from competitors. 4D Gel is removed like gel polish and acrylic enhancements. The Top coat needs to be filed away like gel polish and debulked like acrylic nails using a 180-grit file. Then using Gel II Professional Steam removal system the 4D Gel can be steamed off — just add Gentle Soak Gel Polish Remover into the system’s cups, allow nails to steam for 10 minutes, then gently remove 4D Gel with an orangewood stick once it has softened. Or remove 4D Gel as you would gel-polish: Buff nails with a 180-grit file, dampen cotton with Gel II Gentle Soak, place it directly on the nail, and wrap with foil. Twist the end to secure the cotton tightly, then wrap a hot towel around the hand and let it sit for 15 minutes. Lastly, remove the gel using an orangewood stick and gently buff nails with a 220/280 buffing block.

4. It’s strong and healthy.
4D Gel gives the lightweight feel of natural nails with the durability of acrylics. It’s healthy too: 4D Gel does not contain HEMA, a common allergen. That means it’s less likely to cause allergic reactions in nail techs or their clients. It’s odorless and produces no airborne dust when filed. It also reduces the filing time necessary to create the desired nail shape and thickness.

Step 1

Prep by pushing back the cuticle and a light buffing on the natural nail bed. Wipe away all dust. Apply 4D Gel® Nail Bond and allow to air dry.

Step 2

Apply 4D Gel® Base Coat to the nail and cure for 50 seconds.

Step 3

Squeeze a dollop of 4D Gel® to the top of the tube. Swipe the dollop with the knife tool and place it on the nail.

Have the Sculpting Solution ready to use when forming the gel drop on the nail.  Dip a small flat brush sparingly into the Sculpting Solution and use it to shape gel.

The gel will not harden until cured.  This allows you time to shape the gel, using the Sculpting Solution as long as you need to get a perfect nail.

Step 4

Once you reach the desired form, cure for 50 seconds under lamp.

Step 5

File with 180 grit file to shape and buff gel surface. Wipe away all dust.

Step 6

Finish with 4D Gel® No Cleanse Top Coat and Cure.
